Hard fought Draw

Match report M2 vs CoP3

Please find my apology and match report for the great derby match between the 2s and CoP1/2/3s team. Artistic license has been taken on the goals because I only care if the opposition have it past the 23 ?

As the second fixture of the day, the men’s took on the mantle of remembrance from the masters and started with a minutes silence. This moment of reflection was followed by the swift exchanges of the first half, with M2 getting some initial pressure and some strong defending. Deadlock was broken with a bobble across the line from Si Butler. Shortly after though CoP got a couple of short corners which were skilfully put away with drag flicks from Kingger (CoP2 captain). I’m not bitter but Ketch and I nearly stopped one. 3-1 CoP.

Second half started with the echoes of the first with initial CoP pressure pressing high and looking for another goal. The defence kept their cool and built up the attacks. A second for Si came with a well executed back stick/stick tackles that ended up in the back of the net. This was swiftly followed by a screamer from Mike from pretty much the baseline to the top left corner. The deadlock then continued with the result of 3-3.

Now the reason for my DOD. I can only apologise for my wanton destruction and aggression towards the opposition. It was completely my fault for my Cass like low stick tackle. This then when my head got in the way of the opposition’s knee. Incensed, he kicked off at me, this alerted the umpire who said I started it and he continued to Yellow card for each of us.

MOM - Reece (a change from DOD) for hard work throughout

DOD - Me, for taking one for the team — with Ed John and 3 others.
