We are back! Here's a summary of today's action:
Bournemouth Ladies 4th XI 6-1 US Ladies
After a long drive and clean game the final score was 6-1. The team (made up of many new faces) worked hard and during the match had many opportunities in the attacking D with some good shots on goal. Most notably, asides from Julianne's debut goal, was Corrina's great strike which was on target but the goalie got a pad on the ball sending it sky rocketing over the cross bar.
MOM ? - Julianne for just being awesome. Great posting up, debut game and for scoring the first goal of the season
DOD ? - Brooke for being a lil too feisty and tripping up/taking multiple sticks off the opposition
Salisbury Men's 2nd XI 0-6 US Men's 1st XI
After a pep talk from the captain that told the team to take it steady and no unnecessary risks, to his surprise that's exactly what they did ? US were composed and dictated play and settled straight in to a rhythm dominating the ball and controlling the pace. This control led to an Elliott Ferrett hat-trick alongside goals from Callum Stoyles, Si Massiah and Jamie Martin. It wasn't all US though and the captain had to pick on off the line from a PC to keep the clean sheet. All done and dusted, a great start to the season.

US Men's 2nd XI 3-0 Wimbourne Wayfarers
The second string had the honour of playing the first league game on the new pitch. US immediately took the front foot and dominated possession, creating chances but just missing that final pass or shot. The deadlock was broken on 23 minutes by David Hammond finishing as the ball bobbled around the D and the lead was doubled from a PC at half time with Simon Berendt coming up from the back to show the forwards how it’s done. Rob O'Kane did add a third with a deflection in front of the keeper late on in the second half.
A positive start to the season, and we know what we need to work on. Bring on what is sure to be a tougher game next week at IoW.
