M1 hit another six!

Gosport 1-6 US Men's 1st XI
US started with high intensity from the off with the breakthrough coming after 10 minutes with Michael Pugh putting it in from 4 yards at the back post. Pugh would go on to score three more four yard goals, with the other two coming from Matty Wallis and Jamie Martin. Gosport did pull a goal back from a PC, but the 1st XI maintain their grip on the top of Div 3. Well played to all the team, but MOTM goes to Ryan Carey.

Southampton Ladies 3rd XI 1-1 US Ladies
The first 10/15 mins saw US a bit flustered and Soton capitalised and scored - 1 - 0. After this, US woke up with some brilliant drives from Gill Glover-Bell in midfield leading to chances, but none converted. Corrina Earey started the 2nd half by single handedly running through half the Soton team, slipping the ball left to Charlotte who was waiting on the post screaming for the ball. By 36 mins gone, we were 1 - 1 and with everything to play for. Commitment from everyone was phenomenal, with some great runs from all, but ultimately the points were shared.
MOM: Corrina (good runs, tapping it round 4-5 players on average each time she had the ball)
DOD: Robynne for an over passionate half time talk!

US Men's 2nd XI 2-2 Petersfield Men's 3rd XI
US started quickly out of the blocks but struggled to break down a stubborn Petersfield side who grew into the game as the half went on. US managed to breakthrough with a quick counter finished by Reece Sherman. Second half saw a good interchange of passes resulting in a cross fizzed across the face of goal and Craig Bryant took a chance to put US 2 up. Petersfield looked to be tiring but they dug deep and were able to capitalise from 2 short corners to rescue a point from the game.

MoM Ollie after he looked cool, calm and collected on the ball.

DoD Rob Blease for a five minute sit down.

Salisbury Strollers 7-6 US Masters
Another goal fest for the Masters side but a strong performance having only traveled with ten players, and a goalkeeping debut for John Anderson.

Next week is another triple home weekend so we look forward to plenty of support at Fortress Temeraire!!
