Final summer league game at Havant in the sweltering heat looking to end the summer league on a high.
A strong start from US, but it was Havant who took the lead with a fine finish over goalkeeper Lee ‘Snowy’ Winter. From here US really grew into the game, with Jamie Martin finding Robbie Taylor on the back post who converted at the second attempt.
HT 1-1. Team talk summary - Post up for the ball!
The second half saw a flurry of penalty corners for US. Another back post ball from Jamie this time converted by Martin MacDonald before Robbie got his second from a straight strike. Skipper Matt Ketcher, just back on, poked past the keeper to make it 4-1.
Havant broke to score a second late on, despite a fine initial save from Snowy, to make the final score 4-2.
A thoroughly enjoyable game and a fine way to end the summer. Our Club Day is 21st September at Temeraire, with all teams playing friendlies, hockey challenges on the second pitch and a BBQ to end the day. We would love to see you there!
