Goal-fest in the first triple home match day!

US Ladies 1st XI 7-0 Winchester 3rd XI
Straight from the whistle the ladies came out hard and played some of the best hockey in recent times, a great start this early in the season. The goals came from Kim, Beth, Gill, Ju’s, Emily, and myself getting 2. Brilliant to see so many people get on the scoreboard!

Kim got LOM for playing an absolute blinder and scoring a beaut of a goal. I got DOD for ‘falling’ over. I can confirm that the new pitch is very good at taking layers of skin off...

A great match that has us excited for the rest of the season. We played hard, played with kindness and had a lot of fun.

US Men's 1st XI 6-1 Aldershot & Farnham
Following a 6-0 opening game of the season, M1 followed up by hitting another six against Aldershot & Farnham with goals from Callum Stoyles, Elliott Ferrett, Tom Singleton, Tim Mallett, Si Massiah and Jack Ferrett. A scintillating goal from Aldershot & Farnham denied US a clean sheet this week, but an undefeated record will be taken over the harbour to Gosport next weekend.

US Masters 3-10 Havant Vets
The first game of the season for the Masters proved to be a tough one, with visitors Havant demonstrating clinical finishing to run away with the victory on the scoreline, but the Masters showed determination throughout to create chances and will take plenty of positives to Salisbury next weekend.

IOW Men's 2nd XI 2-5 US Men's 2nd XI
Ten brave men took the ferry across the Solent to face IOW, and came away with all three points through a disciplined performance of half court press and counter attacking hockey. A hat-trick from Sean Fraser and a brace from Mike Hookway maintaining the 100% start for the Men's section.

MOM - everyone deserved it but our outstanding player today was Mike Hookway. Fantastic throughout and great link play. Special mention to Sean for his hat trick.

DOD - Tristan Bell. Missing an aerial on the bounce and the blaming it on the fact that I am now used to our new £500,000 pitch...(did I mention it is the best in Hampshire?)

Well done lads!
